Kids Activities

• Kids activities range from simple games to playing outside to reading to coloring. Kids activities encompass anything that keeps their little minds working and their sense of wonder fully fueled. Your child probably has his/her favorite kids activities down pat, but here are some suggestions for additional fun:

  • Kids crafts: have fun using household materials to create animals, mobiles and more.
  • Printable games: let your child have fun playing these printable games including Connect the Dots, Tic Tac Toe, Birthday Words and more.
  • Internet fun: many children's websites have online fun for kids. Try Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, Holly Hobbie, Webkinz, PBS Kids, and National Geographic Kids. Also visit AGKidZone for more fun characters, games and online entertainment.
  • Buy a disposable camera and let your child (and friends) make picture-taking one of his/her new favorite kids activities.
  • Bake some cookies, brownies, cupcakes or other goodies and have your mini-me help with preparation, adding ingredients, and taste-testing (and of course, licking the bowl as a pre-wash cycle!).

Kids Books

• Perhaps the most educational kids' activity...reading. If you know kids, you know that when they read they're soaking up words, thoughts and concepts like little sponges. You can almost see the steam coming out of their little ears. Kids books let your child go to a far away place on a new adventure all while he/she is learning the invaluable skill of understanding the written word.

  Kids books are written with multiple purposes: entertaining your mini-loved one; teaching a child to focus and rely on him/herself; and encouraging him/her to keep reading and learning. The Berenstein Bears, Judy Blume, Dr. Seuss...they all tickle your child's imagination and funny bone, and they all can help your child become a little smarter with their enriching kids books series.

  • Mercer Mayer's Little Critter: cuddle up to the famously cute Critter and delve into some story time fun.

  • First 100 Days of School books: for the kids' famous countdown every year.

• What is a kid's favorite pastime? Coloring! Okay, so it's not a pastime, it's an everyday thing but they love it all the same.
