Stereograms take advantage of the manner in which your brain interprets similar, but slightly offset, images to produce a three-dimensional image. In a stereogram, the information for two different views of the same scene is hidden within the artwork.
How are stereograms made?
Over twenty years ago, computers were used to help create Stereograms based on patterns of random dots. Improvement in computer speed has enabled Stephen Schutz, who is both an artist and a physicist, to develop a technique, the 5-Dtm stereogram, to take the "random dots" out of these Stereograms. By incorporating hidden Multi-Dimensional images into beautiful pictures, Dr. Schutz has helped to invent this new art form published by Blue Mountain Arts (Patent No. 5,594,841).
