4th of July Greetings: What to Write
Before you can write the perfect Fourth of July message, you might first be wondering what's the correct way to write out the holiday. These are all acceptable ways to spell it:
- Fourth of July, the Fourth of July, the Fourth or July Fourth: Spelling out the ordinal number is the preferred way to write the holiday, according to the most-referenced guides. So, if you want to keep your message a little extra fancy, go with one of these.
- July 4, July 4th, 4th of July: If you’re a bit more informal, it’s perfectly okay to write the date of the holiday with a number (our cards do)!
- Independence Day: It takes longer to write out, but it’s another option if you can’t decide on the whole “Fourth” or “4th” thing.
