Johnny Appleseed Day March 11 Celebrate with an apple . . . or two. Born John Chapman in 1774, Johnny Appleseed was a pioneer and conservationist who introduced the apple to parts of the Midwest. He was also a roving philanthropist -- he traveled the country giving away clothes, land, horses and trees.
On March 2nd was born Theodor Geisel, He wrote stories for kids that were nice-el. The two Brothers Grimm and Ol' Mother Goose, Had nothing on Geisel -- cuz he's Dr. Seuss. Have a fun one! Dr. Seuss wrote and illustrated 44 children's books, including The Cat in the Hat, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Green Eggs and Ham. Most of his tales featured bizarre creatures and rhyming text.
