Reversible wrapping paper techniques: 45 degree angle method

Reversible gift wrap offers a great choice between using the solid or patterned side of the paper, but what if you’d like to use both?

We came up with this super cute idea that helps you use both sides of the paper at the same time, creating a cool angled fold across the package to show off the patterned side of the paper.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  1. A gift box
  2. Tape
  3. Scissors
  4. Double sided tape
  5. Reversible wrapping paper
Supplies you'll need: a gift box, tape, scissors, double sided tape, reversible wrapping paper

You’re going to start wrapping your gift like you normally would, but when you cut your wrapping paper, you’re going to cut it long enough to go almost two times around your gift box. Then lay the paper patterned-side down and fold down so that it’s at about a 45-degree angle.

Using double-sided tape, attach this folded corner to itself by placing a few pieces of double-sided tape on the solid side of the paper.

Flip the gift wrap over and line up your gift box. Take the top corner and place it right on the angled seam of the gift wrap so that it crosses the package at that same 45-degree angle. From this position on the corner of the wrapping paper, roll your package end-over-end until you reach the end of your wrapping paper.

Tape the flat end of the wrapping paper to your gift wherever it landed when you rolled it to the end. Then you roll your gift back towards your angled side again, wrapping the gift. Attached the angled triangle with double sided tape.

Finish the ends of the package like your normally would and…voila!

You did it!
